Working in a supermarket the number of women who ask me to pack their bags lightly is concerning. Also some ask bc of stairs in their house. Some walk in with a walker, some need to sit down, some are hunched over & some with a cane. The number of online shopping for groceries is popular (may cause less incidental activity for those ordering). An Uber driver was buying for a customer telling me he does a lot of buying for customers of other business too ie chemist, Kmart, target.

Muscle being a deposit for glucose matters thus the antithesis is sarcopenia.

Thank goodness you are highlighting sarcopenia as awareness is something I can work & strive towards slowing down. Thx.

Then there are younger people who are setting themselves up for failure by relying on delivery etc. I think you are doing great. Thank you for commenting and for following along.

Thanks for this information. I have been recovering from bacterial meningitis. Lucky to be alive and still have my cognitive abilities. I work at strength in my legs everyday. However, my balance issues make my family concerned. I have to have a supervisor. At 61 it is really irritating.

The weakness I had in my legs after being in icu for so long really frightened me. Grateful for your articles.

I appreciate you sharing what is going on with you. I recognize that what you went through isn't just a period of reduced activity but neurological damage as well. Working on strength will only improve function and not cause harm. Even if balance never fully recovers you will be more fracture or harm resistant by being more robust. My best to you.
